No, seriously, I know him!
Many were first introduced to the viral sensation now know as Bike Guy back when Barstool Sports put him up for Hardo of the Year after the 2015 NHL Combine. I however, met Jordan Marwin almost two years ago when I joined Buffalo’s premier training facility, IMPACT Sports Performance, where he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. And it’s not hard to see why the former Division I rower turned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter has risen to social stardom for his motivation tactics.
Those tactics… basically described as yelling at your face. And loud enough so that a whole continent has taken notice. Marwin’s vocal cords would get even more of a work out, scoring some interviews and even providing some motivational videos to some… less than motivated individuals. Move over Matt Foley, there’s a new Sheriff in town.
But the fans weren’t the only ones on board with Marwin’s distinct style. During the combine, a couple of prospects were asked about their experience and what they though of the “Jacked dude with braided hair and tattoos” yelling in their face. Well, they loved it, and if you know what the Wingate test is, you know why. But if you don’t, here you go. Spoiler alert! It’s not the most fun thing in the world.
And I speak from experience on that. In fact, I completed the Wingate test earlier tonight. Can’t write an article like this if you’re not willing to get on the bike and put the hammer down. I had another Combine staffer, my trainer, Jim “The Man” Starkey, in my ear, and let me tell you, it definitely helps.
So #BikeGuy, Jordan, keep on keeping on. We put you on the spot before the Combine and you certainly didn’t disappoint.
Now you just have to get your face on one of those elevators. 😉
